Heat Pumps

Heat pumps are energy-efficient units that are located outside of your home.  They look and function very similar to air conditioners.  The difference is that in addition to providing cooling in summer, heat pumps also provide heating in the winter.  They do this by reversing the flow of refrigerant.  They absorb the heat from outside and transfer it into the home.  The ultra efficient units can provide heat for your home even on the coldest of days.   A heat pump can be paired with either an electric furnace (air handler) or a traditional gas furnace.  Feldman Heating & Cooling can install, repair and maintain the awesome units for you.

Air Handlers

Air handlers are also called electric furnaces.  These are the indoor portion of your heat pump system.  The components generally include a fan blower to move the air in your home's ducts, an evaporator coil and electric heat banks.  These all electric systems are designed to work with your heat pump to condition the home.
